vajahu naanak milai ek naam ridh jap jap jeevai ||

he lives by chanting and meditating on it within his heart.)
jaa kaa Thaakur tuhee prabh taa ke vaddabhaagaa |
(One who has You as His Master, O God, is blessed with great destiny.)
oh suhelaa sadh sukhee sabh bhram bhau bhaagaa ||
(He is happy, and forever at peace; his doubts and fears are all dispelled.)
ham chaakar gobi(n)dh ke Thaakur meraa bhaaraa |
(I am the slave of the Lord of the Universe; my Master is the greatest of all.)
karan karaavan sagal bidh so satiguroo hamaaraa ||
(He is the Creator, the Cause of causes; He is my True Guru.)
dhoojaa naahee aaur ko taa kaa bhau kareeaai |
(There is no other whom I should fear.)
gur sevaa mahal paieeaai jag dhutar tareeaai ||
(Serving the Guru, the Mansion of the Lord's Presence is obtained, and the impassable world-ocean is crossed over.)
dhirasaT teree sukh paieeaai man maeh nidhaanaa |
(By Your Glance of Grace, peace is obtained, and the treasure fills the mind.)
jaa kau tum kirapaal bhe sevak se paravaanaa ||
(That servant, unto whom You bestow Your Mercy, is approved and accepted.)
