Daas Tere Ki Benti, ridh kar paragaas


Shabad (pg 818 of SGGS):
ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਰਿਦ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
dhaas tere kee benatee, ridh kar paragaas ||
(This is the prayer of Your servant: please enlighten my heart.)

ਤੁਮੑਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਦੋਖਨ ਕੋ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
tum(h)ree kirapaa te paarabraham, dhokhan ko naas ||1||
(By Your Mercy, O Supreme Lord, please erase my sins.)

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥
charan kamal kaa aasaraa, prabh purakh gunataas ||
(I take the Support of Your Lotus Feet, O God, Primal Lord, treasure of virtue.)

ਕੀਰਤਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਰਹਉ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
keeratan naam simarat rahau, jab lag ghaT saas ||1||
(I shall meditate in remembrance on the Praises of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, as long as there is breath in my body.)

ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬੰਧਪ ਤੂਹੈ ਤੂ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
maat pitaa ba(n)dhap tu-hai, too sarab nivaas ||
(You are my mother, father and relative; You are abiding within all.)

ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਾਸੁ ॥੨॥
naanak prabh saranaagatee, jaa ko niramal jaas ||2||
(Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God; His Praise is immaculate and pure.)

Ddithaa Sabh Sansaar, Sukh N Naam Bin



Shabad (Pg 322 of SGGS) : 
ਜੀਵਨ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੁ ਇਕੋ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ॥
Jeevan Padh Nirabaan Eiko Simareeai ||
(To gain the immortal status remember thou the One pure Lord.)

ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ ਕਿਨਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਧੀਰੀਐ ॥
Dhoojee Naahee Jaae Kin Bidhh Dhheereeai ||
(There is no other place. How can we be content with another?)

ਡਿਠਾ ਸਭੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ॥
Ddithaa Sabh Sansaar Sukh N Naam Bin ||
(I have seen the whole world, there is no peace without the Lord's Name.)

ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹੋਸੀ ਛਾਰੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ਜਨੁ ॥
Than Dhhan Hosee Shhaar Jaanai Koe Jan ||
(The body and wealth shall become dust but hardly any one understands this.)

ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਰਸ ਬਾਦਿ ਕਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਪਰਾਣੀਆ ॥
Rang Roop Ras Baadh K Karehi Paraaneeaa ||
(Pleasure, beauty and relishes are vain. What are thou engaged in, O Mortal.)

ਜਿਸੁ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਲ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀਆ ॥
Jis Bhulaaeae Aap This Kal Nehee Jaaneeaa ||
(He whom God Himself deludes understands not His might.)

ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੁ ਸਚਾ ਗਾਵਹੀ ॥
Rang Rathae Nirabaan Sachaa Gaavehee ||
(They who are imbued with the love of the Pure Lord sing the True Name.)

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਦੁਆਰਿ ਜੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਹੀ ॥੨॥
Naanak Saran Dhuaar Jae Thudhh Bhaavehee ||2||
(Nanak whosoever are pleasing to Thee, O Lord, seek the shelter at Thy door.)

Shabad (Ang 803 of SGGS) : Simar manaa raam naam chitaare |
(Meditate, contemplate the Name of the Lord, O mind.)

bas rahe hiradhai gur charan piaare ||
(The Beloved Feet of the Guru abide within my heart.)


bhoole maarag jineh bataiaa ||
(He places the one who strays back on the Path;)

aaisaa gur vaddabhaagee paiaa ||1||
(such a Guru is found by great good fortune.)

Simar manaa raam naam chitaare |
(Meditate, contemplate the Name of the Lord, O mind.)

bas rahe hiradhai gur charan piaare ||1||
(The Beloved Feet of the Guru abide within my heart.)

kaam karodh lobh moh man leenaa ||
(The mind is engrossed in worldly desires, anger, greed and emotional attachment.)

ba(n)dhan kaaT mukat gur keenaa ||2||
(Breaking my bonds, the Guru has liberated me.)

dhukh sukh karat janam fun mooaa ||
(Experiencing pain and pleasure, one is born, only to die again.)

charan kamal gur aasram dheeaa ||3||
(The Lotus Feet of the Guru bring peace and shelter.)

agan saagar booddat sa(n)saaraa ||
(The world is drowning in the ocean of fire.)

naanak baeh pakar satigur nisataaraa ||4||3||8||
(O Nanak, holding me by the arm, the True Guru has saved me.)

Shabad : Amrit naam tera soee gaavai




Shabad (Ang 100 of SGGS) : a(n)mrit naam teraa soiee gaavai || 
  jo saahib terai man bhaavai ||
(He alone sings Your Ambrosial Naam, 
who is pleasing to Your Mind, O my Lord and Master.)

too(n) sa(n)tan kaa sa(n)t tumaare 
  sa(n)t saahib man maanaa jeeau ||2||
(You belong to the Saints, and the Saints belong to You. 
The minds of the Saints are attuned to You, O my Lord and Master.)



sifat saalaahan teraa hukam rajaiee ||
(To praise You is to follow Your Command and Your Will.)

so giaan dhiaan jo tudh bhaiee ||
(That which pleases You is spiritual wisdom and meditation.)

soiee jap jo prabh jeeau bhaavai 
  bhaanai poor giaanaa jeeau ||1||
(That which pleases God is chanting and meditation; 
to be in harmony with His Will is perfect spiritual wisdom.)

a(n)mrit naam teraa soiee gaavai || 
  jo saahib terai man bhaavai ||

who is pleasing to Your Mind, O my Lord and Master.)

too(n) sa(n)tan kee kareh pratipaalaa ||
(You cherish and nurture the Saints.)

sa(n)t kheleh tum sa(n)g gopaalaa ||
(The Saints play with You, O Sustainer of the World.)

apune sa(n)t tudh khare piaare 
  too sa(n)tan ke praanaa jeeau ||3||
(Your Saints are very dear to You. 
You are the breath of life of the Saints.) 

aun sa(n)tan kai meraa man kurabaane ||
(My mind is a sacrifice to those Saints who know You,)

jin too(n) jaataa jo tudh man bhaane ||
(and are pleasing to Your Mind.)

tin kai sa(n)g sadhaa sukh paiaa 
  har ras naanak tirapat aghaanaa jeeau ||4||
(In their company I have found a lasting peace. 
Nanak is satisfied and fulfilled with the Sublime Essence of the Lord.)

Shabad : Mere saha, main har darshan sukh hoi



Shabad (Ang 670 of SGGS) : mere saahaa 
  mai har dharasan sukh hoi ||
(O my King, my Lord, 
beholding the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, I am at peace.)

hamaree bedhan too jaanataa saahaa 
  avar kiaa jaanai koi ||
(You alone know my inner pain, O King; 
what can anyone else know?)

saachaa saahib sach too mere saahaa 
  teraa keeaa sach sabh hoi ||
(O True Lord and Master, You are truly my King; 
whatever You do, all that is True.)

jhooThaa kis kau aakheeaai 
  saahaa dhoojaa naahee koi ||1||
(Who should I call a liar? 
There is no other than You, O King.)

sabhanaa vich too varatadhaa saahaa 
  sabh tujheh dhiaaveh dhin raat ||
(You are pervading and permeating in all; O King, 
everyone meditates on You, day and night.)

sabh tujh hee thaavahu ma(n)gadhe mere saahaa 
  too sabhanaa kareh ik dhaat ||2||
(Everyone begs of You, O my King; 
You alone give gifts to all.)

sabh ko tujh hee vich hai mere saahaa 
  tujh te baahar koiee naeh ||
(All are under Your Power, O my King; 
none at all are beyond You.)

sabh jeea tere too sabhas dhaa mere saahaa 
  sabh tujh hee maeh samaeh ||3||
(All beings are Yours-You belong to all, O my King. 
All shall merge and be absorbed in You.)

sabhanaa kee too aas hai mere piaare 
  sabh tujheh dhiaaveh mere saeh ||
(You are the hope of all, O my Beloved; 
all meditate on You, O my King.)

jiau bhaavai tiau rakh too mere piaare 
  sach naanak ke paatisaeh ||4||
(As it pleases You, protect and preserve me, O my Beloved; 
You are the True King of Nanak.)

Shabad : Garib neewaj gusiyan mere


 
Shabad (Ang 1106 of SGGS) : gareeb nivaaj gusieeaa meraa 
maathai chhatr dharai ||1||
(O Patron of the poor, Lord of the World,
You have put the canopy of Your Grace over my head.)


aaisee laal tujh bin kaun karai ||
(O Love, who else but You could do such a thing?)

gareeb nivaaj gusieeaa meraa 
  maathai chhatr dharai ||1||
(O Patron of the poor, Lord of the World,
You have put the canopy of Your Grace over my head.)

jaa kee chhot jagat kau laagai 
  taa par tuha(n)ee ddarai ||
(Only You can grant Mercy to that person whose touch pollutes the world.)

neecheh uooch karai meraa gobi(n)dh 
  kaahoo te na ddarai ||1||
(You exalt and elevate the lowly, O my Lord of the Universe; 
You are not afraid of anyone.)

naamadhev kabeer tilochan sadhanaa sain tarai ||
(Naam Dayv, Kabeer, Trilochan, Sadhana and Sain crossed over.)

keh ravidhaas sunahu re sa(n)tahu 
  har jeeau te sabhai sarai ||2||
(Says Ravi Daas, listen, O Saints, 
through the Dear Lord, all is accomplished.)

Shabad : Har jiyo, kirpa karo tum pyare

 

Shabad (Ang 603 of SGGS) : har jeeau 
  kirapaa karahu tum piaare ||
(O Dear Beloved Lord, 
please show mercy to me.)

satigur dhaataa mel milaavahu 
  har naam dhevahu aadhaare ||
(Unite me in the Union of the True Guru, 
the Great Giver, and give me the support of the Lord's Name.)

bin satigur seve bahutaa dhukh laagaa 
  jug chaare bharamaiee ||
(Without serving the True Guru, he suffers in terrible pain, 
and throughout the four ages, he wanders aimlessly.)

ham dheen tum jug jug dhaate 
  sabadhe dheh bujhaiee ||1||
(I am poor and meek, and throughout the ages, 
You are the Great Giver - please, grant me the understanding of the Shabad.)

har jeeau 
  kirapaa karahu tum piaare ||
O Dear Beloved Lord, 
please show mercy to me.)

satigur dhaataa mel milaavahu 
  har naam dhevahu aadhaare ||
(Unite me in the Union of the True Guru, 
the Great Giver, and give me the support of the Lord's Name.)

manasaa maar dhubidhaa sahaj samaanee 
  paiaa naam apaaraa ||
(Conquering my desires and duality, I have merged in celestial peace, 
and I have found the Naam, the Name of the Infinite Lord.)

har ras chaakh man niramal hoaa 
  kilabikh kaaTanahaaraa ||2||
(I have tasted the sublime essence of the Lord, and my soul has become immaculately pure; 
the Lord is the Destroyer of sins.)

sabadh marahu fir jeevahu sadh hee 
  taa fir maran na hoiee ||
(Dying in the Word of the Shabad, you shall live forever, 
and you shall never die again.)

a(n)mrit naam sadhaa man meeThaa 
  sabadhe paavai koiee ||3||
(The Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam is ever-sweet to the mind; 
but how few are those who obtain the Shabad.)

dhaatai dhaat rakhee hath apanai 
  jis bhaavai tis dheiee ||
(The Great Giver keeps His Gifts in His Hand; 
He gives them to those with whom He is pleased.)

naanak naam rate sukh paiaa 
  dharageh jaapeh seiee ||4||
(O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, they find peace, 
and in the Court of the Lord, they are exalted.)
