satgur mera be-muhtaaj |
(My True Guru is totally independent.)
satgur merai sacha saaj |
(My True Guru is adorned with Truth.)
satgur mera sabhas kaa daata |
(My True Guru is the Giver of all.)
satgur mera purakh bidhaata ||
(My True Guru is the Primal Creator Lord, the Architect of Destiny.)
gur jaisa naahi ko dev |
(There is no deity equal to the Guru.)
jis mastak bhaag, so laaga sev |
(Whoever has good destiny inscribed on his forehead, applies himself to seva - selfless service.)
satgur mera sarb pratpaalai |
(My True Guru is the Sustainer and Cherisher of all.)
satgur mera maar jivaalai |
(My True Guru kills and revives.)
satgur mere ke vadiyaayee
pragat bhayee hai sabhni thayeen ||
(The glorious greatness of my True Guru has become manifest everywhere.)
Satgur mera taan nitaan |
(My True Guru is the power of the powerless.)
satgur mera ghar dibaan |
(My True Guru is my home and court.)
satgur kai haun bal jaaiya |
(I am forever a sacrifice to the True Guru.)
pargat marg jin kar dikhlaaiya ||
(He has shown me the path to salvation.)
Jin gur seviya
tis bhau na biyaapai |
(One who serves the Guru,
is not afflicted with fear.)
jin gur seviya
tis dukh na santaapai |
(One who serves the Guru
does not suffer in pain.)
nanak sodhai simrat beyd |
(Nanak has studied the Simritees and the Vedas.)
parbraham gur naahi bhed ||
(There is no difference between the Supreme Lord God and the Guru.)
