(The True Lord and Master is forever merciful and forgiving.)

ba(n)dh paiaa merai satigur poorai hoiee sarab kaliaan |
(My Perfect Guru has bound me to Him, and now, I am in absolute ecstasy.)

hamaree ganat na ganeeaa kaiee apanaa biradh pachhaan |
(He did not take my accounts into account; such is His forgiving nature.)

haath dhei raakhe kar apune sadhaa sadhaa ra(n)g maan |
(He gave me His hand, and saved me and made me His own; forever and ever, I enjoy His Love.)

jeeau pai pi(n)dd jin saajiaa dhitaa painan khaan |
(The One who fashioned the body and placed the soul within, who gives you clothing and nourishment) 

apane dhaas kee aap paij raakhee naanak sadh kurabaan ||
(He Himself preserves the honor of His servants. Nanak is forever a sacrifice to Him.)

Shabad : Laal rang tis kau lagaa, jis ke vadda bhagaa



Shabad (Ang 808 of SGGS) : laal rang tis kau lagaa jis ke vaddabhaagaa |
(One is dyed in the color of the Lord's Love, by great good fortune.)

mailaa kadhe na hoviee neh laagai dhaagaa ||
(This color is never muddied; no stain ever sticks to it.)

prabh paiaa sukhadhaieeaa miliaa sukh bhai |
(He finds God, the Giver of peace, with feelings of joy.)

sahaj samaanaa bheetare chhoddiaa neh jai ||
(The Celestial Lord blends into his soul, and he can never leave Him.)

jaraa maraa neh viaapiee fir dhookh na paiaa |
(Old age and death cannot touch him, and he shall not suffer pain again.)

pee a(n)mrit aaghaaniaa gur amar karaiaa ||
(Drinking in the Ambrosial Nectar, he is satisfied; the Guru makes him immortal.)

so jaanai jin chaakhiaa har naam amolaa |
(He alone knows its taste, who tastes the Priceless Name of the Lord.)

keemat kahee na jaieeaai kiaa keh mukh bolaa ||
(Its value cannot be estimated; what can I say with my mouth?)

safal dharas teraa paarabraham gun nidh teree baanee |
(Fruitful is the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, O Supreme Lord God. The Word of Your Bani is the treasure of virtue.)

paavau dhoor tere dhaas kee naanak kurabaanee ||
(Please bless me with the dust of the feet of Your devotees; Nanak is a sacrifice.)

Shabad : Nirgun rakh liya

Shabad (Ang 1117 of SGGS) : niragun raakh leeaa 
  sa(n)tan kaa sadhakaa |
(I am unworthy, but He has saved me, 
for the sake of the Saints.)

satigur ddaak leeaa 
  moh paapee paRadhaa ||
(The True Guru has covered my faults; 
I am such a sinner.)

ddaakanahaare prabhoo hamaare 
  jeea praan sukhadhaate |
(God has covered for me; He is the Giver of the soul, 
life and peace.)

abinaasee abigat suaamee 
  pooran purakh bidhaate ||
(My Lord and Master is Eternal and Unchanging, Ever-present; 
He is the Perfect Creator, the Architect of Destiny.)

ausatat kahan na jai tumaaree 
  kaun kahai too kadh kaa |
(Your Praise cannot be described; 
who can say where You are?)

naanak dhaas taa kai balihaaree 
  milai naam har nimakaa ||
(Nanak is a sacrifice to the one who blesses him with the Lord's Name, even for an instant.)

(If the Lord bestows His Glance of Grace, then one remembers Him in meditation.)

aatamaa dhravai rahai liv lai |
(The soul is softened, and he remains absorbed in the Lord's Love.)

aatamaa paraatamaa eko karai |
(His soul and the Supreme Soul become one.)

a(n)tar kee dhubidhaa a(n)tar marai ||
(The duality of the inner mind is overcome.)

gur parasaadhee paiaa jai |
(By Guru's Grace, God is found.)

har siau chit laagai fir kaal na khai ||
(One's consciousness is attached to the Lord, and so Death does not devour him.)


sach simariaai hovai paragaas |
(Remembering the True Lord in meditation, one is enlightened.)

taa te bikhiaa meh rahai udhaas |
(Then, in the midst of Maya, he remains detached.)

satigur kee aaisee vaddiaaiee |
(Such is the Glory of the True Guru;)

putr kalatr viche gat paiee ||
(in the midst of children and spouses, they attain emancipation.)


aaisee sevak sevaa karai |
(Such is the service which the Lord's servant performs,)

jis kaa jeeau tis aagai dharai |
(that he dedicates his soul to the Lord, to whom it belongs.)

saahib bhaavai so paravaan |
(One who is pleasing to the Lord and Master is acceptable.)

so sevak dharageh paavai maan ||
(Such a servant obtains honor in the Court of the Lord.)


satigur kee moorat hiradhai vasaae |
(He enshrines the image of the True Guru in his heart.)

jo ichhai soiee fal paae |
(He obtains the rewards which he desires.)

saachaa saahib kirapaa karai |
(The True Lord and Master grants His Grace;)

so sevak jam te kaisaa ddarai ||
(how can such a servant be afraid of death?)


bhanat naanak kare veechaar |
(Prays Nanak, practice contemplation,)

saachee baanee siau dhare piaar |
(and enshrine love for the True Word of His Bani.)

taa ko paavai mokh dhuaar |
(Then, you shall find the Gate of Salvation.)

jap tap sabh ih sabadh hai saar ||
(This Shabad is the most excellent of all chanting and austere meditations.)

Lord, what do I need to worry about?)

(You entrusted everything to me, 
when I became Your devotee.)

lakhamee toT na aaviee 
  khai kharach raha(n)dhaa |
(My wealth is inexhaustible, 
no matter how much I spend and consume.)

lakh chauraaseeh medhanee 
  sabh sev kara(n)dhaa |
(The 8.4 million species of beings,
all work to serve me.)

eh vairee mitr sabh keetiaa 
  neh ma(n)geh ma(n)dhaa |
(All these enemies have become my friends, 
and no one wishes me ill.)

lekhaa koi na puchhiee 
  jaa har bakhasa(n)dhaa |
(No one calls me to account, 
since God is my forgiver.)

ana(n)dh bhiaa sukh paiaa 
  mil gur govi(n)dhaa |
(I have become blissful, and I have found peace, 
meeting with the Guru, the Lord of the Universe.)

sabhe kaaj savaariaai

(All my affairs have been resolved,

gazing upon the incomparable Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.)

  tis jevadd avar na koiee |
(Gazing upon God, I live, and I am at peace; 
no one else is as great as He is.)

aadh a(n)t madh prabh raviaa 
  jal thal maheeal soiee |
(Present at the beginning, end and middle of time, 
He pervades the sea, the land and the sky.)

charan kamal jap saagar tariaa 
  bhavajal utare paaraa |
(Meditating on His Lotus Feet, 
I have crossed over the sea, the terrifying world-ocean.)

(I cannot see any other place of shelter; 
I have grown weary, and collapsed at Your door.)

lekhaa chhodd alekhai chhooTeh 
  ham niragun leh ubaaree |
(Please ignore my account; only then may I be saved. 
I am worthless - please, save me!)

sadh bakhasi(n)dh sadhaa miharavaanaa 
  sabhanaa dhei adhaaree |
(You are always forgiving, and always merciful; 
You give support to all.)

naanak dhaas sa(n)t paachhai pario

(He created the creatures in water, 
and He gives them their nourishment.)

othai haT na chaliee 
  naa ko kiras karei ||
(There are no stores open there, 
and no one farms there.)

saudhaa mool na hoviee 
  naa ko le na dhei ||
(No business is ever transacted there, 
and no one buys or sells.)

jeeaa kaa aahaar jeea 
  khaanaa eh karei ||
(Animals eat other animals; 
this is what the Lord has given them as food.)

vich upaae sairaa 
  tinaa bh saar karei ||
(He created them in the oceans, 
and He provides for them as well.)

naanak chi(n)taa mat karahu

(O Nanak, don't be anxious;

har a(n)mirat bhare bha(n)ddaar 
  sabh kichh hai ghar tis kai bal raam jeeau ||
(The Lord's Ambrosial Nectar is an overflowing treasure; 
everything is in His Home. I am a sacrifice to the Lord.)

baabul meraa vadd samarathaa 
  karan kaaran prabh haaraa ||
(My Father is absolutely all-powerful. 
God is the Doer, the Cause of causes.)

jis simarat dhukh koiee na laagai 
  bhaujal paar utaaraa ||
(Remembering Him in meditation, pain does not touch me; 
thus I cross over the terrifying world-ocean.)

aadh jugaadh bhagatan kaa raakhaa 
  usatat kar kar jeevaa ||
(In the beginning, and throughout the ages, He is the Protector of His devotees. 
Praising Him continually, I live.)

naanak naam mahaa ras meeThaa 
  anadhin man tan peevaa ||
(O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the sweetest and most sublime essence. 
Night and day, I drink it in with my mind and body.)

(My True Guru is the Primal Creator Lord, the Architect of Destiny.)

gur jaisa naahi ko dev |
(There is no deity equal to the Guru.)

jis mastak bhaag, so laaga sev |
(Whoever has good destiny inscribed on his forehead, applies himself to seva - selfless service.)

satgur mera sarb pratpaalai |
(My True Guru is the Sustainer and Cherisher of all.)

satgur mera maar jivaalai |
(My True Guru kills and revives.)

satgur mere ke vadiyaayee 
  pragat bhayee hai sabhni thayeen ||
(The glorious greatness of my True Guru has become manifest everywhere.)

Satgur mera taan nitaan |
(My True Guru is the power of the powerless.)

satgur mera ghar dibaan |
(My True Guru is my home and court.)

satgur kai haun bal jaaiya |
(I am forever a sacrifice to the True Guru.)

pargat marg jin kar dikhlaaiya ||
(He has shown me the path to salvation.)

Jin gur seviya 
  tis bhau na biyaapai |
(One who serves the Guru,
is not afflicted with fear.)

jin gur seviya
  tis dukh na santaapai |
(One who serves the Guru 
does not suffer in pain.)

nanak sodhai simrat beyd |
(Nanak has studied the Simritees and the Vedas.)

parbraham gur naahi bhed ||
(There is no difference between the Supreme Lord God and the Guru.)

(Without the Guru, there is utter darkness; 
without the Guru, understanding does not come)

  guroo bin mukat na paavai ||
(Without the Guru, there is no intuitive awareness or success; 
without the Guru, there is no liberation.)

gur kar sach beechaar 
  guroo kar re man mere ||
(So make Him your Guru, and contemplate the Truth; 
make Him your Guru, O my mind.)

gur kar sabadh sapu(n)n 
  aghan kaTeh sabh tere ||
(Make Him your Guru, who is embellished and exalted in the Word of the Shabad;
all your sins shall be washed away.)

gur nayan bayan gur gur karahu 
  guroo sat kav nalaye keh ||
(So speaks NALL the poet: with your eyes, make Him your Guru; 
with the words you speak, make Him your Guru, your True Guru.)

jin guroo na dhekhiaau nahu keeaau 
  te akayath sa(n)saar meh ||
(Those who have not seen the Guru, who have not made Him their Guru, 
are useless in this world.)

(and I found bliss, happiness and peace.)

sa(n)tahu raam naam nisatareeaai |
(O Saints, salvation comes from the Lord's Name.)

uooThat baiThat har har dhiaaieeaai anadhin sukirat kareeaai ||
(While standing up and sitting down, meditate on the Lord's Name. Night and day, do good deeds.)

sa(n)t kaa maarag dharam kee pauRee ko vaddabhaagee paae |
(The way of the Saints is the ladder of righteous living, found only by great good fortune.)

koT janam ke kilabikh naase har charanee chit laae ||
(The sins of millions of incarnations are washed away, by focusing your consciousness on the Lord's feet.)

ausatat karahu sadhaa prabh apane jin pooree kal raakhee |
(So sing the Praises of your God forever; His almighty power is perfect.)

jeea ja(n)t sabh bhe pavitraa satigur kee sach saakhee ||
(All beings and creatures are purified, listening to the True Teachings of the True Guru.)

bighan binaasan sabh dhukh naasan satigur naam dhiraRaiaa |
(The True Guru has implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me; it is the Eliminator of obstructions, the Destroyer of all pains.)

khoe paap bhe sabh paavan jan naanak sukh ghar aaiaa ||
(All of my sins were erased, and I have been purified; servant Nanak has returned to his home of peace.)

(union with the Almighty is not attained by merely talking about it - By mere words, Yog is not attained.)

ek darisat kar samsar jaanai jogee kahi ai soi |
(One who sees the Almighty everywhere and treats all equally; 
(soi) such a person is known Yogi (saint))

jog na khi(n)thaa jog na dda(n)ddai jog na bhasam chaRaieeaai |
(Yoga is not the patched coat, Yoga is not the walking stick. Yoga is not smearing the body with ashes.)

jog na mu(n)dhee moo(n)dd muddaiaai jog na si(n)n(g)ee vaieeaai |
(Yoga is not the ear-rings, and not the shaven head. Yoga is not the blowing of the horn.)

a(n)jan maeh nira(n)jan raheeaai jog jugat iv paieeaai ||
(Remaining unblemished in the midst of the filth of the world - this is the way to attain Yoga.)

jog na baahar maRee masaanee jog na taaRee laieeaai |
(Yoga is not wandering to the tombs of the dead; Yoga is not sitting in trances.)

jog na dhes dhisa(n)tar bhaviaai jog na teerath naieeaai |
(Yoga is not wandering through foreign lands; Yoga is not bathing at sacred shrines of pilgrimage.)

a(n)jan maeh nira(n)jan raheeaai jog jugat iv paieeaai ||
(Remaining unblemished in the midst of the filth of the world - this is the way to attain Yoga.)

satigur bheTai taa sahasaa tooTai dhaavat varaj rahaieeaai |
(Meeting with the True Guru, doubt is dispelled, and the wandering mind is restrained.)

nijhar jharai sahaj dhun laagai ghar hee parachaa paieeaai |
(Nectar rains down, celestial music resounds, and deep within, wisdom is obtained.)

a(n)jan maeh nira(n)jan raheeaai jog jugat iv paieeaai ||
(Remaining unblemished in the midst of the filth of the world - this is the way to attain Yoga.)

naanak jeevatiaa mar raheeaai aaisaa jog kamaieeaai |
(O Nanak, remain dead while yet alive - practice such a Yoga.)

vaaje baajhahu si(n)n(g)ee vaajai tau nirabhau padh paieeaai |
(When the horn is blown without being blown, then you shall attain the state of fearless dignity.)

(Remaining unblemished in the midst of the filth of the world - this is the way to attain Yoga.)

(He (The Lord) does not let His devotees see difficult times, 
this is His innate nature)

Haath de raakhe apne ko 
  saas saas pratpale ||
(Giving His hand, he protects His devotee, 
with each and every breath, He cherishes him.)

prabh siau laag rahio meraa cheet |
(My consciousness remains attached to God.)

aadh a(n)t prabh sadhaa sahaiee 
  dha(n)n hamaaraa meet ||
(In the beginning, and in the end, God is always my helper and companion;
blessed is my friend.)

man bilaas bhe saahib ke 
  acharaj dhekh baddaiee |
(My mind is delighted, gazing upon the marvellous, 
glorious greatness of the Lord and Master.)

har simar simar aanadh kar naanak 
  prabh pooran paij rakhaiee ||
(Remembering, remembering the Lord in meditation, Nanak is in ecstasy; 
God, in His perfection, has protected and preserved his honor.)

it is so long since I have gazed upon the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.)


ham sar dheen dhiaal na tum sar 
  ab pateeaar kiaa keejai |
(There is none as forlorn as I am, and none as Compassionate as You; 
what need is there to test us now?)

bachanee tor mor man maanai 
  jan kau pooran dheejai |
(May my mind surrender to Your Word; 
please, bless Your humble servant with this perfection.)

(I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to such a Guru; 
He himself, has attained salvation and carries me across to that path as well)

kavan kavan kavan gun kaheeaai 
  a(n)t nahee kachh paarai |
(Which, which, which of Your Glorious Virtues should I chant? 
There is no end or limitation to them.)

laakh laakh laakh kiee korai 
  ko hai aaiso beechaarai |
(There are thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, many millions of them, 
but those who contemplate them are very rare.)

bisam bisam bisam hee bhiee hai 
  laal gulaal ra(n)gaarai |
(I am wonder-struck, wonder-struck, wonder-struck and amazed, 
dyed in the deep crimson color of my Beloved.)

kahu naanak sa(n)tan ras aaiee hai 
  jiau chaakh goo(n)gaa musakaarai |
(Says Nanak, the Saints savor this sublime essence, 
like the mute, who tastes the sweet candy, but only smiles.)

(Everything is pre-ordained; what else can be known through study?)

bhool chook apanaa baarik bakhasiaa paarabraham bhagavaanaa ||
(The errant child has been forgiven by the Supreme Lord God.)


satigur meraa sadhaa dhiaalaa moh dheen kau raakh leeaa |
(My True Guru is always merciful; He has saved me, the meek one.)

kaaTiaa rog mahaa sukh paiaa har a(n)mrit mukh naam dheeaa ||
(He has cured me of my disease, and I have obtained the greatest peace; He has placed the Ambrosial Name of the Lord in my mouth.)


anik paap mere parahariaa ba(n)dhan kaaTe mukat bhe |
(He has washed away my countless sins; He has cut away my bonds, and I am liberated.)

a(n)dh koop mahaa ghor te baeh pakar gur kaadd le'ee ||
(He has taken me by the arm, and pulled me out of the terrible, deep dark pit.)


nirabhau bhae sagal bhau mitia rakhe rakhanahare |
(I have become fearless, and all my fears have been erased. The Savior Lord has saved me)

aisi daat teri prabh mere karaj sagal savare ||
(Such is your generosity, O my God, that you have resolved all my affairs.)

tu samarath akath agochar 
  jiu pind teri ras |
(O God, You are all-powerful, inexpressible and imperceptible; 
my soul and body are Yours)

miharavan sahib miharavan
  sahib mera miharavan |
(Merciful, the Lord Master is Merciful.
My Lord Master is Merciful.)

ji sagal kau dei dan |
(He gives His gifts to all beings.)

Tu kahe dole prania
  tudh rakhega sirjanhar |
(Why do you waver, O mortal being? 
The Creator Lord Himself shall protect you.)

jin paidaish tudh kiya
  soi dae adhaar |
(He who created you, 
will also give you nourishment.)

  jithe kithe menu lay chhadayi |
(The Beloved Guru is always with me, 
  wherever I may be, He will save me)

tis gur ko ho vaariaa 
  jin har kee har kathhaa sunaaee |
(I am a sacrifice to the Guru, 
  who recites the sermon of the Lord's Teachings.)

tis gur ko sadh balihaaranai 
  jin har saevaa banath banaaee |
(I am forever a sacrifice to that Guru, 
  who has led me to serve the Lord.)

tis gur kau sabas hai 
  jin har sojhi pai |
(Most blessed is that Guru, 
  who imparts understanding of the Lord.)

naanak gur vittahu vaariaa
 jin har naam dheeaa maerae man kee aas puraaee |
(O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Guru, 
  who has given me the Lord's Name, and fulfilled the desires of my mind.)

(O Lord of all worlds: reveal to me, even for an instant, the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.)

kup bhario jaise dadira kachh des bides na bujh |
(The frog in the deep well knows nothing of its own country or other lands;)

aise mera man bikhia bimohia kachh ara par na sujh |
(just so, my mind, infatuated with corruption, understands nothing about this world or the next.)

malin bhai mat madhva teri gat lakhi na jae |
(My intellect is polluted; I cannot understand Your state, O Lord.)

karahu kirpa bharam chuki mai sumat deh samjhae |
(Take pity on me, dispel my doubts, and teach me true wisdom.)

jogisar pavahi nahi tua gun kathan apar |
(Even the great Yogis cannot describe Your Glorious Virtues; they are beyond words.)

Shabad (Ang 39-40 of SGGS)  : Mere satgura mai tujh bin awar na koi
    hum moorakh mugadh sharnaagati kar kirpa milay har soi |
(O my True Guru, without You I have no other at all.
    I am foolish and ignorant; I seek Your Sanctuary. Please be Merciful and unite me with the Lord.)


mai man than birahu ath agalaa kio preetham milai ghar aae |
(Within my mind and body is the intense pain of separation; how can my Beloved come to meet me in my home?)

jaa dhaekhaa prabh aapanaa prabh dhaekhiai dhukh jaae |
(When I see my God, seeing God Himself, my pain is taken away.)

jaae pushhaa thin sajanaa prabh kith bidhh milai milaae ||1||
(I go and ask my friends, ""How can I meet and merge with God?"")


sathigur dhaathaa har naam kaa prabh aap milaavai soe |
(The True Guru is the Giver of the Name of the Lord. God Himself causes us to meet Him.)

sathigur har prabh bujhiaa gur jaevadd avar n koe |
(The True Guru understands the Lord God. There is no other as Great as the Guru.)

ho gur saranaaee dtehi pavaa kar dhaeiaa maelae prabh soe ||2||
(I have come and collapsed in the Guru's Sanctuary. In His Kindness, He has united me with God.)


manehat(h) kinai n paaeiaa kar oupaav sakee sabh koe |
(No one has found Him by stubborn-mindedness. All have grown weary of the effort.)

sehas siaanap kar rehae man korai ra(n)g n hoe |
(Thousands of clever mental tricks have been tried, but still, the raw and undisciplined mind does not absorb the Color of the Lord's Love.)

koorr kapatt kinai n paaeiou jo beejai khaavai soe ||3||
(By falsehood and deception, none have found Him. Whatever you plant, you shall eat.)


sabhanaa thaeree aas prabh sabh jeea thaerae thoo(n) raas |
(O God, You are the Hope of all. All beings are Yours; You are the Wealth of all.)

prabh thudhhahu khaalee ko nehee dhar guramukhaa no saabaas |
(O God, You are the Hope of all. All beings are Yours; You are the Wealth of all.)

bikh bhoujal ddubadhae kadt lai jan naanak kee aradhaas ||4||
(In this terrifying world-ocean of poison, people are drowning in their bad karmas & sorrows, please lift them up and save them! This is (Lord's servant) Nanak's humble prayer.)

(The Lord gives whatever is asked from Him.)

Chatur disa kino bal apna, sir upar kar dhareyo
    Kirpa katakh avalokan kino, das ka dukh bidaryo
(He has spread His power in the four directions, and has put His hand on my head. 
Looking with gracious eyes, He has removed the pain of His servant.)

Harijan rakhe Guru Govind, rakhe Guru Govind
    Kanth lae avguna sab mete, dyal purakh bakshind
(Master, who is the Lord, protects His people Himself. 
Removing all the bad qualities, the Compassionate and Forgiving One embraces (me).)

Jo mange Thakur apne te, soi soi deve
    Nanak das mukh te jo bole, iha uha sach hove 
(The Lord gives whatever is asked from Him. 
Whatever Nanak, the servant of the Lord, speaks from His mouth becomes true here and hereafter.)

Tum maat pitaa hum baarik tere
    Tumhri kirpa mein sukh ghanere
(You are our mother and father, we are your children.)
    (Contained within your kirpa (hukam and blessings), there is so much contentment and joy.)

Tu thakur tum pe ardhaas 
    jiyo pind sab teri raas
(You are our Lord and Master; to You, I offer this prayer.)
    (This body and soul are all Your property.)    

Koyi na jaaNe tumhra ant
    Ooche te uncha bhagawant
(No one knows Your limits.)
    (O Highest of the High, Most Generous God,)

Saghal samagri tumhre sutradhaari
    Tum te hoye so aagiyakaari
(the whole creation is strung on Your thread.)
    (That which has come from You is under Your Command.)

Tumhri gat mit tum hi jaani
  Naanak daas sadaa qurbani
(You alone know Your state and extent.)
    (Nanak, Your devotee, is forever a sacrifice.)

(O Lord, I am devoted, dedicated, a sacrifice to Your Name)

jogi andir jogia
(Among Yogis, You are the Yogi;)

tu bhogi andir bhogia
(among pleasure seekers, You are the Pleasure Seeker.)

tera aant na paaya surig mach payal jio |
(Your limits are not known to any of the beings in the heavens, in this world, or in the nether regions of the underworld.)

tujh sansar uupaya
(You created the world,)

sire siir thande laaya
(and assigned tasks to one and all.)

veekhe kita aapna kar kudrat paasa daal jio |
(You watch over Your Creation, and through Your All-powerful Creative Potency, You cast the dice.)

pargat pahare japda
(You are manifest in the Expanse of Your Workshop.)

sabh naave no partapda
(Everyone longs for Your Name,)

satguru bajh na payo sabh mohi maya jaal jio |
{but without the Guru, no one finds You. All are enticed and trapped by 'Maya Jaal' (illusions / mirage)}.

satgur ko baal jaye
(I am a sacrifice to the True Guru.)

jit mile param gaat payiye
(Meeting Him, the supreme status is obtained.)

sur nar mun jan lochde so satgur diya bujhiye jio |
(The angelic beings and the silent sages long for Him; the True Guru has given me this understanding.)

saatsangat kaisi janiye
(How is the Society of the Saints to be known?)

jithe eeko naam vakhniye
(There, the Name of the One Lord is chanted.)

eeko naam hukam hai nanak satgur diya bujhiye jio |
(The One Name is the Lord's Command; O Nanak, the True Guru has given me this understanding.)
