January-2014 - some significant events :
1. Venus transits in retrograde motion & returns to Sagittarius(9) 06-Jan-2014 to 25-Feb-2014.
Venus is on a journey of transformation from an Evening Star to a Morning Star - It begins to move in line with the Sun in the zodiac as an "evening star" & eventually disappearing from sight & finally emerging later in January on 11-Jan-2014 as the "morning star" & remaining as a morning star until 25-oct-2014. During this time of transformation - it appears to make a descent into the underworld, setting in the West as the Evening Star and then rising again in the East as the Morning Star.
Remember - that the transformation of Venus from an Evening Star to a Morning Star is one from the "god of love" to the "god of war".
Western, Persian & Vedic Astrology differ slightly on the analysis of this transformation / metamorphosis - However all agree that this brings about interesting changes & turbulent times.
The exact conjugation of Sun & Venus is on Jan-11 - This union is blessed by Jupiter from the 7th Aspect (7th dristi of Jupiter) which is transiting in Gemini(3) & Saturn from the 3rd aspect which is transiting in Taurus(7).
After this union - The Sun continues to move on to Capricorn(10) on Jan-13, while Venus stays back on in Sagittarius(9) in Retrograde motion (backward).
Once the Sun moves on in the Zodiac, Venus starts to reveal its true colours. In the meantime Venus also gets inflamed with the 4th aspect from Mars, which is positioned in Virgo(6).
There is a lot of fiery energy with this combination (Venus & Mars) coming forth in the next 2 months. Stalled projects may get a kick start.
In the meantime - Venus is aspected by Saturn with the 3rd aspect, Jupiter from the 7th aspect. Both provide help & support to Venus during the next 2 months.
May not be a bad time to re-write the resume & go job hunting / stars are very favourable.

2. Sun Transits Capricorn(10) 13-Jan-2014 to 12-Feb.
The Sun enters un-friendly territory after 2 months, enters Capricorn(10) the home of Saturn.
Its as if - it losses its self confidence & ego. Saturn destroys ego & over confidence. It wants you to learn the hands-on approach. No more cushy luxury of pushing buttons. It wants you to roll up your sleeves & get down on your hand & knees hard work.
The Sun transits the 2 signs of Saturn during the next 2 months - Capricorn (10) and Aquarius (11) as per Vedic Calendar.
If during this time you find yourself being repeatedly slapped & your ego shattered, look no further than within yourself to understand the lessons you are being dealt.
Its during these times of hard work & effort that we begin to appreciate the worth of luxury & comfort.
"He who has tasted the bitter / sour fruit - will appreciate & cherish the sweetness, when the fruit is ripe."
Overall - the the next 2 months may be hard / back breaking work - but its all worth it, if the rewards are sweet.
