My Star-Gazing: Scientific Astrological Forecast - May/2014

Hi Friends,
I will be resuming my monthly Astrological Forecasts & may not post the full version on the groups forum as it may not be relevant to the forum at large - However the full monthly forecasts will become available monthly on my Blog: Rahul's Café Canadian

May-2014 - some significant events :

1. Venus transits Pisces(12) 28-Apr-2014 to 23-May-2014 (exalted)
When Venus moves into Pisces, we may feel inspired to work, create and build new forms that support our vision of what true love and happiness is. A great time to develop new friends & relationships. Also a great time to rebuild those old broken bridges.
All the creative energies which have been locked up in the gloom of winter are now being released with vigour. There may be chances for the re-blosoming of relationships, & lots of possibilities for new one to develop.

2. Sun Transits Aires(1) 15-apr-2014 to 15-may-2014 (exalted)
The Sun in Aires(1) is in the home of its friend & ally Mars(Mangal) & is exalted (unch Rashi). Its energies are magnified many times over. Where as Mars at this time moves into Virgo(6) and is giving the 8th aspect (drishti) to the Sun. There are no bounds to this auspicious combination. The Sun during this time is fully in command of the Zodiac, it shines brightest & so this is a good time for clear self-expression. The Sun represents the self, the soul and the life purpose; without the Sun, life wouldn't be possible on our planet.

The power of the Sun is so great that it can be destructive, indiscriminately projecting light and heat to all who come within range.
As per Astrology all planets coming within 5 degrees of the Sun, can be burnt & combust from the bright light & heat. This is the in-discriminatory power of the Sun.

So - this is a good time to enjoy the fruits of one's success, and like the Sun - The king - act like one - be brave, generous & forgiving - magnanimous.
However in pride there is a fall - so be careful to achieve that balance..

Raj Yoga : The Sun in Aires is exalted & all powerful. To Double that energy : The Sun will have Venus in Pisces on one side and Mercury in Taurus on the other. Having two benefic planets flanking on either side is supportive to the Sun; with those two supporting planets being Mercury and Venus, we may feel especially confident in our communication and creative self-expression.
Children who are born during this time period will have the - Obhayachari Yoga (a form of Raj Yoga) - Eloquent speaker, well formed limbs, wealthy, famous, well-liked, delighted, confident as the Sun.

A Word of Caution - eventhough the Sun being in exaltation, it is under the shadow of Ketu - its arch rival & its Pitfall.
Whereas the Sun represents, strength, ego, bold (brave), generous & magnanimous. Ketu is the exact opposite, it represents Moksha (liberation from earthly desires), Sanyas, Salvation.
So be careful ; The desire of the soul for liberation (Moksha) in all of us is so strong, that it can carry away the ego & self confidence and sense of self, as this is a very important passage of life.

3. Mercury transits Taurus(2) 04-May-2014 to 23-May (favourable)
Mercury being the first Planet from the Sun, follows the Sun closely & is free from the rule of being combust by the energy of the Sun.
It is the controller of communication. Mercury is in the sign of Venus & in its friendly sign. This will be a time of free flow of communication, without hindrance.

Overall - The best time of the year is here. Time to forgive & forget & let the by-gone be. Be brave, generous, and forgiving, have the self confidence to achieve. Do not hide behind any walls of fear or self created delusion. Tear down those walls of fear & let the sun shine through. As you may not get that opportunity again during the year.
Also be mindful of the desire of Liberation (Moksha), for those that have earthly responsibilities of families & kids, have to fulfill those obligations first. God Bless you all.

Saskatchewan, Prairie cities to see most growth in 2014 // 16,087 jobs posted in Sask today

Hello Friends,
Proof is in the pudding. I have been harping on this for over 5 years now. Whereas Ontario, Quebec & the Atlantic Provinces may see stagnant growth over the next few years, due to falling manufacturing activity.
Saskatchewan; on the other hand, has continued to be the bright spot & continued to lead the way in terms of economic growth over the last 4 years & will continue to do so, into the next decade, due to basic economic fundamentals : Land Mass, Low Population, Most Productive land in Canada in terms of agriculture; Large untapped resources (Oil, Natural Gas, Potash, Gold, etc) and so on..

A note for all new immigrants & potential immigrants -
Now with the new federal immigration rules - it is next to impossible to bring your siblings (brothers, sisters, cousins) & other relatives (Uncles / Aunt) in Canada for Permanent residence - due to the new federal guidelines - that route is still open to you through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), if you are a resident of that province - you can still sponsor your siblings.

New Immigrants who have not established roots in Canada as yet and have no particular affinity to a particular town / province - to those I will suggest to think of settling down in the Prairie Provinces as their economies are more robust and there are better chances of finding good jobs and better work opportunities.

April-2014 - some significant events :

1. Venus transits Aquarius(11) 31-mar-2014 to 28-apr-2014.
Venus transits friendly territory, Aquarius(11) the home of Saturn, its ally. Venus & Saturn are at this time in exchange of their houses (Ghar Parivartan). Both are friends & allies; & this combination provides a boost to the creative energy of Venus for the next month as it transits the signs of Saturn. Venus being the Lord of Love, affection & creativity is now free to show its full blossom of colours in the spring. Venus is gaining strength upon strength, and with the first signs of spring, all the creative energies which have been locked up in the gloom of winter are now being released with vigour. My Star-Gazing: Scientific Astrological Forecast - Feb/2014

Venus "the Morning Star" looking East to the rising Sun.

2. Mars Transits Libra(7) 4-feb-2014 to 24-mar-2014
Mars comes in conjugation with Saturn & Rahu during this time. Both are arch rivals to Mars & belong to the opposite camp.
This is going to lead to some conflict & clash of egos at home & work. Time to avoid conflict during this time. There are chances where small arguments escalating out of control; while Mercury (controller of all communications) is also retrograde during feb/6 to feb/28 & may lead to a total loss of communication.

3. Sun Transits Aquarius(11) 13-feb-2014 to 14-mar.
The Sun is in un-friendly territory Aquarius(11) the home of Saturn.
Its as if - it losses its self confidence & ego. Saturn destroys ego & over confidence. It wants you to learn the hands-on approach. No more cushy luxury of pushing buttons. It wants you to roll up your sleeves & get down on your hand & knees hard work.
If during this time you find yourself being repeatedly slapped & your ego shattered, look no further than within yourself to understand the lessons you are being dealt.
Its during these times of hard work & effort that we begin to appreciate the worth of luxury & comfort.

Reflections of 2013 / QE -money for nothing & Gold is free

Hello Friends,
With the holidays finally over - time to reflect on the year that was - some of the highlights - in case you missed any of those.

1. QE (Quantitative Easing) - QE1, QE2, QE3 and QE to infinity..
We first heard of this term QE back in 2010 as this was a move to purchase mortgage baced securities by the US federal Reserve to prop up the markets, to avoid a collapse & help the markets come out of the 2008 recession (sub-prime mortgage crisis).
However this short term intervention has gone to far & almost all countries are copying the American model with heavy doses of Quantitative Easing. Japan, India, the European Union - all are copying the American QE model. In many countries - it is literally flooding the economy & markets with Billions & Billions of free money & cash, leading to very high inflation & a Booming stock market as the surplus cash has no-where to go but prop up the stock markets.
This is the biggest back-door bail-out of the Markets (Wall street) in history. All the previous mistakes of the Big corporates have been written off with huge bail-out packages from the governments & now with this excessive liquidity - is creating an artificial scarcity of Blue chip stocks. there is so much money running after Blue chip corporate common stock - that it has inflated to bubble proportions again.

2. Booming Stock Markets - all over the World.
Take a look at the Market performance around the world :

DJI is up more than 23% in 2013.

TSX up more than 11% for the year 2013

3. Gold is down more than 30% for the year 2013.
2013 - Paper holds more value than physical gold (seems like a joke)

4. Debt is skyrocketing to unheard figures.

This is the best chart & I have saved for the last. Its a hypothetical scenario - with the current rate of QE to infinity & increase in Debt ceilings. Can this debt ever be paid back..

My Analysis :
The QE phenomenon was good to start with. However many countries including India are now facing a high rate of inflation & lots of public dissent.
If this continues for another year - its bad news for the common man.
Fixed Income / salaries are not keeping pace with high rates of inflation & all the savings are for no good as Banks are offering very low rates of Interest on deposits.
People are now forced to make risky investment decisions to keep their investments inline with the rate of inflation.
People are also piling on lots of debt with low interest payments, much more than they could afford previously with higher rates of interest.
All this may be leading to a catastrophic situation in time to come & time will tell. This situation may lead to a devaluation / restructure of currencies around the world as all this debt becomes un-payable over time.

In the meantime, why worry - lets sing & dance.

2. Sun Transits Capricorn(10) 13-Jan-2014 to 12-Feb.
The Sun enters un-friendly territory after 2 months, enters Capricorn(10) the home of Saturn.
Its as if - it losses its self confidence & ego. Saturn destroys ego & over confidence. It wants you to learn the hands-on approach. No more cushy luxury of pushing buttons. It wants you to roll up your sleeves & get down on your hand & knees hard work.
The Sun transits the 2 signs of Saturn during the next 2 months - Capricorn (10) and Aquarius (11) as per Vedic Calendar.
If during this time you find yourself being repeatedly slapped & your ego shattered, look no further than within yourself to understand the lessons you are being dealt.
Its during these times of hard work & effort that we begin to appreciate the worth of luxury & comfort.
