My Star-Gazing: Scientific Vedic Astrological Forecast - Mar/2018

Few significant astrological events occurring in the coming months :
1. Sun Transits Pisces (12): 14-Mar – 13-April .
Sun is finally entering friendly territory after 2 months. This is a welcome reprieve after 2 months of harsh winter. We'll be blessed with the "kripa drishti" (beneficial rays of warmth) of the Surya & can relax a bit from our daily hardships. Finally the Sun is in Friendly territory in Pisces (12), the home of Guru (Jupiter). This will be an interesting transit as the Sun will receive 4th aspect from Mars & 9th aspect from Rahu, it will be highly energized. The Sun also forms a conjugation with Mercury & Venus during this time, which is again a very positive factor.

2. Venus Transits Pisces (12) 1-Mar to 26-Mar.
Pisces is considered the exaltation sign of Venus, so this will be a positive transit. This passage through Pisces (the sign of Jupiter) is even more significant as Jupiter & Venus have exchanged their respective signs (it is called ghar parivartan), & holds significance as both are kings in their respective kingdoms. In Hindu mythology, Jupiter (Guru) is the king of the Gods, whereas Shukra-charya (Venus) is the King of the Demons. Both armies are forever locked in conflict in the heavens. When there is a exchange of houses (ghar parivartan) amongst the kings, there's peace on earth. This is a very timely, as it's spring & new growth buds everywhere.

We will explore how Venus is faring & overall, this transit of Venus is very positive, this period is good to explore new relationships as Venus is the ruler of love, & romance.
The conjugation of the Sun, Venus & the Mercury is a positive sign, with powerful aspects of Mars & Rahu.

My Star-Gazing: Scientific Vedic Astrological Forecast - Feb/2018

Hello Friends,
Times are changing & the stars tell the story of a changing environment - socio, political & economical. We will witness a sea change of almost everything.
I keep my faith in the ancient science & knowledge of astrology. It has allowed me to look at everything with a different perspective & keeps me a step ahead of events.

Few significant astrological events occurring in the coming winter months :

1. Super Blue Moon eclipse on January 31 :
The Blue Moon – second of two full moons in one calendar month – will pass through the Earth’s shadow on January 31, 2018, to give us a total lunar eclipse. Totality, when the moon will be entirely inside the Earth’s dark umbral shadow, will last a bit more than one-and-a-quarter hours. The January 31 full moon is also the third in a series of three straight full moon supermoons – that is, super-close full moons. It’s the first of two Blue Moons in 2018. So it’s not just a total lunar eclipse, or a Blue Moon, or a supermoon. It’s all three … a super Blue Moon total eclipse!

On January 31, the Moon moves close to Rahu and into opposition with the Sun at 18º Cancer. The Moon will be about 4° from Rahu, which is close enough for a total lunar eclipse.
This full Moon eclipse would be best spent in a calm environment that is nourishing and supportive for the mind, & avoid expensive mistakes.

2. Sun Transits Aquarius (11): 13-Feb to 14-Mar.
Winter is here & the winter Sun is the weakest - take that as a weakness of energy, self confidence, self ego.
The Sun is in un-friendly territory , transits Capricorn(10) & Aquarius (11) the home of Saturn - Jan-Mar.
Its as if - it losses its self confidence & ego. Saturn destroys ego & over confidence.
The Sun transits the 2 signs of Saturn during the next 2 months - Capricorn (10) and Aquarius (11) as per Vedic Calendar.
it is a good time to get your head down and put your soul into those difficult tasks that offer great rewards.
Its during these times of hard work & effort that we begin to appreciate the worth of luxury & comfort.

Overall - Avoid Conflict situations & costly mistakes : the next 1 1/2 months may be hard - which is seasonal with winter / the usual back breaking work. It is a hard lesson.

My Star-Gazing: Scientific Vedic Astrological Forecast - Jan/2018

Winter is interesting, It's cold, sometimes very cold, it's harsh & it's nature's way to teach us hard lessons. We're back to winter & this year is going to be a bit longer.
Times are changing & the stars tell the story of a changing environment - socio, political & economical. We will witness a sea change of almost everything.
I keep my faith in the ancient science & knowledge of astrology. It has allowed me to look at everything with a different perspective & keeps me a step ahead of events.

Few significant astrological events occurring in the coming winter months :

1. Kaal Sarp Yoga : ending Jan-30 :
The world has been under the spell of the Kaal-Sarpa Yoga (all planets are hemmed within the axis of Rahu-Ketu) & this will continue in the winter until Venus transits past Ketu on Jan-30. Venus is in friendly territory Capricorn (10), therefore this transition will not be as difficult.
In the meantime expect the unexpected. It's a bit Topsy turvy until then.

2. The Sun & Venus conjunct on Jan-09 in Sagittarius(9)
Venus transforms from a "morning star" to an "evening star":
the transformation of Venus from a Morning Star to an Evening Star is one from the "god of war" to the "god of love".
Western, Persian & Vedic Astrology differ slightly on the analysis of this transformation / metamorphosis - However all agree that this brings about interesting changes.
The exact conjugation of Sun & Venus is on Jan-09.

If during this time you find yourself being repeatedly slapped & your ego shattered, look no further than within yourself to understand the lessons you are being dealt.
Its during these times of hard work & effort that we begin to appreciate the worth of luxury & comfort.
If you were thinking that the winter will end soon, you're mistaken because January is going to be brutally cold & dark with no respite from the extreme until mid-Feb, so prepare accordingly.

Venus and Jupiter are both positive forces in this change cycle, encouraging healthy growth, purity and harmony as they exchange houses & interact with each other 20-Dec to Jan-14, after which Venus transits it's friendly sign Capricorn (10).

My thought of the day : Live life to the fullest : You live only Once

Hello Friends,

Recently, I have been talking to many friends & colleagues about their life experiences, & their future outlook towards life in general & retirement : A Canadian lifestyle vs the Indian way of living.

Some of my friends of many years, are in the process of either retiring soon or have already taken an early retirement.

We're immigrants & people of a different mindset. Many of us are torn between 2 mindsets: a culture we were born into (being frugal & conservative) vs the North American environment we chose to live in (live for the day).

We have come a long way from the small towns & villages to a life in Canada. Some of you are still in the process of settling down.

Many of us have gone through tremendous hardships along the way & have amazing stories of courage & sacrifice. The journey has been tough, however it's been worth the effort for most of us.

Recently, I was discussing among friends about the story of a man, who died suddenly just before retirement. He had worked hard all his life, saved money for future & lived a frugal life, with a dream to enjoy a hard earned retirement. He died much before his time & his dreams of having long walks with his spouse, & relaxing on the porch with his grand kids, are now unrealized.

This incident has got me thinking quite a lot...

I believe all of us need to think hard about retirement planning, estate planning, having a life insurance & having a Will in place, however we also need to balance it out with enjoying life to the fullest & taking every day as it comes. Make sure to laugh a lot, love your family & hug them everyday. Forgive & Forget.

"Today will come only once"
