Hello Friends,
Proof is in the pudding. I have been harping on this for over 5 years now. Whereas Ontario, Quebec & the Atlantic Provinces may see stagnant growth over the next few years, due to falling manufacturing activity.
Saskatchewan; on the other hand, has continued to be the bright spot & continued to lead the way in terms of economic growth over the last 4-5 years & will continue to do so, into the next decade, due to basic economic fundamentals : Large Land Mass, Low Population, Most Productive land in Canada in terms of agriculture; Large untapped resources (Oil, Natural Gas, Potash, Gold, etc) and so on..

A note for all new immigrants & potential immigrants -
Now with the new federal immigration rules - it is next to impossible to bring your siblings (brothers, sisters, cousins) & other relatives (Uncles / Aunt) in Canada for Permanent residence - due to the new federal guidelines - that route is still open to you through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), if you are a resident of that province for 1year or more - you can still sponsor your siblings.

New Immigrants who have not established roots in Canada as yet and have no particular affinity to a particular town / province - to those I will suggest to think of settling down in the Prairie Provinces as their economies are more robust and there are better chances of finding good jobs and better work opportunities.

Calgary, Regina, Edmonton, and Saskatoon will lead Canadian metropolitan areas in economic growth in 2014

Prairie Cities to see Most Economic Growth in 2014

The construction of a new professional football stadium will help boost Regina's construction sector. However, GDP growth is forecast to rise by a more moderate 3.5 per cent this year, down from 5 per cent in 2013, as growth slows in manufacturing and in the overall services sector. Following impressive growth of 6.5 per cent in 2013, Saskatoon's GDP will expand by 3.2 per cent this year, as ongoing strength in the services sector is offset by slower activity on the goods-side of the economy.

WHAT THE WORLD IS SAYING ABOUT SASKATCHEWAN
url : http://www.enterprisesaskatchewan.ca/quotes

Saskatchewan is the third-best place in the world for mineral investment – out of 79 jurisdictions surveyed across Canada and around the world.
Fraser Institute Survey of Mining Companies: 2010/2011 - March 2011

“Anchored by growth in the potash industry and steady gains in the energy sector, Saskatchewan is poised for a period of prolonged economic prosperity.”
Conference Board of Canada – February 2011

"If you care at all about the future of the world's food supply, you care – whether you know it or not – about Saskatchewan.”
Andrew Ross Sorkin, Columnist – The New York Times, October 11, 2010

"I can tell you that Saskatchewan is the envy of a lot of places around the world right now – almost a safe haven from the ravages of the great recession. This province has exceptional resources, talented people and tremendous economic potential.”
William J. Doyle, President and CEO, Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan

"Unlike most of the rest of Canada, frankly, and probably unlike most of the rest of the world, I think for Saskatoon and Saskatchewan as a whole (the recession) has really allowed the province to catch its breath. For a lot of North America and a lot of the world we've seen a lot of increased unemployment and, if not recession, then shrinking growth down to flat, whereas Saskatchewan has seen continued growth and is at half the unemployment rate as the rest of Canada."
Matthew Bosrock, Deputy CEO, HSBC Bank Canada – November 5, 2009
