To those that celebrate Dhan-teras
The word Dhan means wealth and Teras means 13th day as per Hindu calendar. It is celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna paksha (dark fortnight) in the Hindu calendar month of Ashwin.
It is a Prayer to Goddess Lakshmi to provide prosperity and well being.
Dhanteras holds special significance for the business community due to the customary purchases of precious metals on this day.
Though wealth is considered one of the evils of modern society.
However as the saying goes - "Money is a barrier against all possible evils."
Those that are ignorant & do not understand the meaning & importance of wealth in day to day life - eventually pay the price.
It is no laughing matter.
We need to inculcate this understanding to our kids also.
Preservation & safe guard of family wealth & ancestral wealth (property) is also important.
